Thanks First Pres family for a very successful Food Drive on June 18. We appreciate the food donations, checks for purchasing needed items and all the volunteers who masked up and turned out to help unload cars. Your generosity helps us be the hands and feet of Christ to our friends and neighbors. Watch for details for future drives.

ORIGINAL POST FROM JUNE 12

Community Outreach of the Diaconate is holding a food drive on Thursday, June 18, to benefit the Gainesville/Hall County Community Food Pantry. The food pantry continues to serve clients on an appointment-only basis and is desperately in need of the following food items:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Canned Fruits
  • Canned green vegetables
  • Canned Tuna
  • Canned Chicken
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal, Grits
  • Toilet Paper
  • Soap – bar or sink soap
  • Detergent

There are several ways that you can help:

  • Deliver any of the above food items to the church and drop them off in the food bin outside the church office Mondays through Thursdays 9:00 am to noon;
  • Make a check out to the church and designate it to the food pantry; a volunteer will purchase the needed food items with your financial donation;
  • Deliver food items to the church on Thursday, June 18, from 9:00 am to noon and a volunteer will take your food donations out of your car/trunk without you having to get out of the car.

We want to keep everyone safe so all volunteers who greet you on Thursday, June 18, will be wearing a face mask and gloves.

We are seeking volunteers to help with the following:
-Prior to June 18, buy food using financial donations received by FPC from church members.
-On Thursday, June 18, take food out of car trunks, sort food, and/or deliver food to the food pantry.
